ANNECY CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL SCOOPS TOP SUSSEX TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARDS
Annecy Catholic Primary School in Seaford is today celebrating the news that staff have scooped two overall wins and three district wins in this year’s Sussex Teacher of the Year Awards.
Headteacher Mr Paul Gallagher and school secretary, Mrs Baillie, have both won Sussex-wide awards, with Mr Gallagher being named Overall Sussex Primary/Secondary Headteacher of the Year and Mrs Baillie taking the accolade of Overall Sussex Receptionist of the Year. Meanwhile, Reception class teacher Mr Frankie Chappell has been named Primary School Teacher of the Year for Lewes District.
“As you can imagine we are absolutely delighted to have won these awards,” says Mr Gallagher. “All I can say of my own win is that it is a privilege to lead such a wonderful school community. I have such a great team supporting me, including Mrs Baillie, who has kept the school running smoothly for the past 16 years.”
“Mr Chappell’s win is thoroughly deserved for all the work, dedication and enthusiasm he puts into making the transition from nursery to primary school a smooth and enjoyable experience for the children and their families.”
We have open days in December and January, if you would like to visit the school, please do not hesitate to contact firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment.
Annecy Catholic Primary School is part of the BOSCO Catholic Education Trust, a group of schools in the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton who have come together to work collaboratively for the benefit of all children in the Catholic schools of Sussex.
Annecy’s three winners received their accolades at the Award’s ceremony on Saturday 6th November at the Jury’s Inn Hotel in Brighton.
The Sussex Teacher of the Year Awards are organised by Inspire Schools and KM Charity Team, with proceeds raised from fundraising at the ceremony going to literacy and road safety projects in the region.
